SOFYANI TATIPAMULA

Dancer, choreographer, instructor

ABOUT ME

I am an Indian-Japanese dancer, instructor and choreographer, with roots in Bharatanatyam and Bollywood dance. I have 10+ years of dance experience across performance, competition, and teaching in Indian dance styles, hip-hop, contemporary, afro, and latin dance forms like Salsa and Bachata. I am at the heart of the old and new and aspire to bring a fusion of styles to the table.

I believe “creating something uniquely yours is magic.”

Currently, I am based in Tokyo, Japan, teaching Bollywood Fusion and Salsa dance classes under Salsa Misaki. To book classes, please contact me on Instagram!

What is Bollywood Fusion?

This genre of dance blends Indian dance styles like Bharatnatyam (traditional South Indian dance or otherwise called “Indian Ballet”), Garba (from North west of India) or Bhangra (North Indian energetic dance style), with modern Western styles like hip-hop, afro, and contemporary movements. A new style like afro desi is emerging recently where we are seeing afro movements being incorporated into Bollywood movies and choreographies.

Health & Safety

Please only join a class if you feel physically ready for it. You know your body best.
